Collapse named two roles that were affected by patch 7.40

Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov said that patch 7.40 had a significant impact mainly on mid laners and carries, while the changes for other roles are not that strong.

The Team Spirit offlaner spoke about this in an interview at DreamLeague Season 27.

“The patch mostly affected mid players — not heroes, but builds. Right now everyone is picking Earth Spirit — he is very strong. I think it’s all because of builds. Ethereal Blade is imba right now. For example for Lina. Or for other heroes that really need stats. Something changed for carries, but for offlaners these are not very big changes”

The two-time world champion emphasized that the patch changed not so much the heroes themselves, but rather item builds. The player admitted that he is happy with these changes, because there is finally some freshness in matches, but he can still play his favorite heroes.

“I played several pubs after the patch came out — I lost every game. I’m still happy, because they made changes. I was waiting for the patch. I can play the same heroes, with the same builds, but already in a new patch. I’m happy about this”

He also clarified that the patch did not affect his position too much, and he didn’t really have to seriously change his builds, although his current matchmaking results are still far from ideal.
