Collapse let slip who Team Spirit could have picked instead of Panto

Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov let slip that besides Nikita “Panto” Balaganin, Team Spirit also considered Andrey “Ducalis” Kuropatkin from PARIVISION as their new captain.

The statement was made during the FISSURE Playground 2 podcast.

“We were still at Riyadh Masters talking with Korb3n. I asked him: “Yarik is leaving. Who will play with us?” He started listing names — there was Panto, Ducalis, someone else. There were a few options. Korb3n was thinking about them and talked with players after Yarik left. In the end we decided that we need Panto. All the other options were kinda meh”

Collapse noted that Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov really talked with possible candidates to replace Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, but the team eventually dropped the idea with Ducalis. The two-time world champion explained that the squad realized — only Panto fits them.

The offlaner also said that he personally talked with the future captain and understood that he’s a good player and a nice teammate. Collapse also jokingly mentioned that the roster’s opinion wasn’t really asked — they were just told about the decision.

At the end, Collapse admitted that he used to mute TORONTOTOKYO when they played together, and explained why.
