Dmitry “S0tf1k” Forostyanko revealed that Ivan “Zweih” Gogin’s father sent him a very long message after the player was denied a spot on the
Team Spirit academy.
The youth team coach discussed this on YouTube.
“I only spoke with his parents once... Okay, twice. Zweih’s father wrote to me when we didn’t take him onto the team, saying, ‘My boy is the best.’ He wrote me a nice, fairly long message on VK.
He found me somehow. Maybe Zweih gave him my contact info. He wrote me a message that really touched me: ‘Vanechka is still young, he doesn’t really understand yet; I’d like you to give him a chance.’ In the end, I didn’t give him a chance.”
According to Dmitry “S0tf1k” Forostyanko, he has only had to communicate with players’ parents a couple of times throughout his entire career in professional Counter-Strike 2. The coach of
Team Spirit’s youth squad noted that he doesn’t know how his contact information ended up with Ivan “Zweih” Gogin’s father, but he still decided not to give the player a chance after reading the letter.
As a reminder, Dmitry “S0tf1k” Forostyanko reflected on whether his players would be able to replicate the success of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets.
