Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov believes there could be many reasons for
Team Spirit’s early exit from the ESL Pro League 23 Counter-Strike 2 tournament, but most likely the team was tired from the long wait before the match.
The player shared this opinion on Twitch.
“Maybe the players were tired because it was an evening match. There are reasons why Spirit might have played that way. No one knows for sure, but teams arrive at the tournament early before a best-of-three series and wait for a very long time. The wait could have really worn them out. I don’t know.”
Acording to Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov, he was confident in an easy victory for
Team Spirit at ESL Pro League 23, as the team looked much more confident than most of their opponents at the tournament and also performed very well in the group stage.
“For me, this was a tournament that Spirit would easily win. I went to watch thinking we’d see our first championship. Those were the thoughts in my head because our main rivals weren’t there, and we went through the group stage with a 3-0 record.
We played pretty confidently, so I don’t know why it turned out this way. Maybe something happened, maybe we weren’t quite ready in some areas, but I don’t know. It’s better to ask the guys themselves. I was sure this was a free tournament.”

Team Spirit following their defeat at ESL Pro League 23.
