China is no place for the weak

Despite the fact that the end of the DPC season is still far away, the matches of the second division in China are almost over. There is only one week left, but some results are already known.
Bypassing qualifications
Elephant disbanded, their slot in the Division I went to Royal Never Give Up. Those, in turn, gave their place in the second division to Neptune Gaming team, the existence of which no one knew until that moment.
Many people didn't understand this decision. After all, the slot could be given to others, more worthy. Or even allow another team from qualifiers. But Valve's rules were not violated, which meant that RNG had every right to do whatever they wanted.
And now two weeks of active games in China have passed. And the results put everything in its place.

For Neptune Gaming, this was the first and possibly the last DPC season. The team was able to beat only CDEC Gaming with a score of 2-1. And those, as it turned out, were not able to show at least some kind of game.
Moreover, on December 13, CDEC refused to play their match against ShenZhen, as it no longer meant anything to them. There is a rumor that the roster will be disbanded, although CDEC signed four new players in November.
Thus, Neptune Gaming and CDEC Gaming are leaving China's second division. However, the community's response to this is slightly different.
Is this a sport?
The refusal of CDEC Gaming to play the match was a little unsportsmanlike. However, on the other hand all can understand this. Score 0-5 in the group and guaranteed elimination. The match would not have changed anything for them, and the players were not happy with the situation.
On December 14, the team has a match against Xtreme Gaming, where Paparazi, Pyw, Dy play. Whether the match will take place is unknown. However, the failure to appear for the second match in a row, although it will be regarded as unsportsmanlike behavior, will still have a logical explanation.
Slightly different attitude towards Neptune Gaming. As already mentioned, they got the DPC slot without qualifying. This fact alone caused discontent among many Dota 2 fans.
A similar thing happened in North America, when a group of girls decided to cheat the system and play in the second division for “fun”, we wrote more about this in our article. The Chinese team did not generate so much negativity like the girls, cause they didn't post anything provocative on social networks.
There are still questions to Royal Never Give Up organization. Why would they give a slot to a team if you could let the stronger squads from the qualifiers play? Or the slot was sold and we don't know about it?

This brings us back to the topic of the article «DPC slot can be sold». If now it's within the rules, then shouldn't the deal on transferring a place in the DPC league be more clear? And can a competition be a competition, if others can get a place so easily? What then is the point for players to fight if others can get it for free?
Be that as it may, there is a place for justice in life and in sports. ShenZhen (3-2) is performing well in the group, and Ybb Gaming (4-1) is close to playing in the first division of China. Looking at these teams from the open qualifiers, there is a hope that more young and talented guys will still get into the DPC and show themselves to the whole world.
