Sebastian “Ceb” Debs said that at the beginning of his career, he was motivated by his love for Dota 2, but later he began to be driven by the desire to defeat the best players in order to become one of them himself.
The player revealed this in an interview on YouTube.
“At first, my motivation was simply my love for the game. I had the opportunity to compete with the best, but I couldn't beat them. I think that's what drove me forward. And then I realized that I could not only compete with them, but also possibly beat them and become the best. That's a very strong incentive.”
The esports player also noted that he never saw money or fame as motivation for his career development. Moreover, Sebastian “Ceb” Debs believes that with such motivation, he might not have achieved such success, giving up prematurely. According to the player, career development requires many sacrifices and achieving goals without clear guarantees of success.
"Money, fame, and everything else — I am very grateful for that. But none of that has ever been a motivator for me. I think if that were the case, it would be more difficult. In that case, I might have given up. It's exhausting work, and there's a lot of it. It's hard to put into words how much you have to sacrifice. You have to have a reason to keep going and make an effort. Looking back, I can say that it took some time, but the point is that when you start setting goals, you don't know if you'll succeed. That's the hardest part."
Earlier, Sebastian “Ceb” Debs congratulated
