MMR bots weren't only able to take position 5 on the European Dota 2 leaderboard, they also surpassed Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk for a small period of time.
This was stated by Denis “sikle” Lerman, an analyst of
Team Spirit.
"These are botters. They've been at the top for a while"
Realizing that Yatoro has more than 16000 MMR, a bot was able to break that record and momentarily place the 2 time Dota 2 World Champion in the lower tier. Numerous esports players have long been whining about smurfs as many other users have been puzzled about the sheer quantity of blatant rule breakers in high tiers and yet there is no action taken by Valve.

Many hold the view that the problem was caused by the introduction of double bet tokens alongside runaway MMR inflation in Dota 2.
It should be noted that previously Yatoro rewrote to Valve and tried to convince them to allow him to play on a ‘smurf’ account with some serious reasoning behind the request.
