Boombl4 Comments on BETBOOM Team’s Failure at the Esports World Cup 2026

Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov believes his team showed a terrible level of preparation at the 2026 Esports World Cup CS2 tournament.

The BetBoom Team captain’s statement was posted on Telegram.

“I’d say our play was very similar over these two days. We just didn’t click on the server. We played terribly throughout the entire tournament. Although we did stage a comeback against Faze and found some momentum. This is the start of the season and our first tournament. After that match, the coach and I reminded the team not to forget that in the first half against Faze, we didn’t look like a team. We were just all over the place.

In the match against NiP, everything went exactly the same way. We got sniped again on the same Nuke map. The problem clearly isn’t the map itself, but how we’re playing. The coach tried to spark some competitive fire in us. Communication improved, but the atmosphere was weighing on everyone. We tried to pull the game together, but we lost the key clutch moments.

I don’t think there’ll be any rest—we need to work. This tournament showed just how much work we have ahead of us. It’s hard to say exactly what we need to focus on right now. We’ll work on our team and individual form, as well as on how we want to progress and develop both personally and as a team.

We have enough time before the next tournament, so we’ll keep working. It’s hard to single out just one thing. We’ll have a team discussion now, and everyone will take something important away from it.”

According to Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, the team faced the most problems on the Nuke map, but the main reason for BetBoom Team’s early exit from the EWC lies in the squad’s overall level of preparation. The BetBoom Team captain also noted that following the defeat, the team won’t be taking a break but will instead focus on addressing issues in their gameplay ahead of upcoming tournaments.
