William "Blitz" Lee promised to bring Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg and Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen back to the professional Dota 2 scene.
The
Team Liquid coach made this statement on his Twitter account for his followers.
"In 2024, I will try to convince zai and MATUMBAMAN to play 'Dota' again. So we can knock the hell out of them."
It remains unclear whether these words were meant seriously, but it is possible that Blitz is indeed considering these esports players as potential future members of the team.
Zai took a break from his career after The International 2023. This marks his second hiatus in recent years. The player has not declared a definitive departure from esports, but he has not disclosed specific plans yet.
MATUMBAMAN retired in October 2022 and stated that he had no plans to return to professional gaming. Later, the player decided to pursue a military career and also participated in TI12 as an English-speaking analyst.
Recall that earlier,
Team Spirit manager Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov unexpectedly admitted a decline in the quality of team's gameplay.
