BetBoom Team will not participate in the PGL Astana Counter-Strike 2 tournament, as the team's priority is IEM Atlanta.
This was announced by the esports organization's analyst Damir “Dmrr” Abulkassimov on Telegram.
"We will not receive an invite to Astana, even if FUT gets US visas and flies to Atlanta, because FUT got us an invite to the closed qualifier, and the closed qualifier overlaps with the Starladder LAN in Spain, which will most likely have a decisive impact on the ranking before the invites to the Major.
Valve's rules state that if you refuse to participate in the closed qualifier, you cannot receive an invitation to the main stage of the tournament. We will definitely not be in Astana, but I hope we will make it to Atlanta without any replacements and show a good game."
According to a statement by Damir “Dmrr” Abulkassimov, due to the withdrawal of the FUT roster, the team received an invitation to the closed qualifier for IEM Atlanta, but not to the tournament itself. Since the qualifiers overlap with the Starladder LAN tournament, which will have a strong impact on the team's ranking before IEM Atlanta,
BetBoom Team is prioritizing this tournament.
As a reminder,
BetBoom Team previously signed Oleg “Rachelr” Tyurkaev as an ambassador for the esports organization.
