Luka 'Lukawa' Nasuashvili, the manager of
BetBoom Team, stated that the scandal with the refusal to shake hands in the grand final of ESL One Birmingham 2024 could have happened because of the tournament organizers. This information was allegedly shared with him by Oliver 'Skiter' Lepko.
The corresponding post was published on Lukawa's Telegram page.
"Skiter said:
Lukawa bro...
He explained that they were immediately told by the organizers to go and lift the trophy and not to be upset.
I'm a simple person, they explained it to me, so I'm explaining it to you :)"
According to the words of
BetBoom Team manager, their opponents were allegedly instructed not to go for the traditional handshake but to go straight to lift the trophy. Perhaps this was a hint that the organizers themselves wanted to provoke a scandal at the competition.
Neither Skiter nor ESL has commented on the situation yet, but it should be noted that the playoffs of the tournament were indeed filled with trash talk and controversial moments.
