Gleb “cenra” Antokhin, Operations Director of
BetBoom Team, stated that, with all due respect to Alexander “Torontotokyo” Hertek, the substitution had a negative impact on the team's play, because of which the squad initially had no serious expectations from the BLAST Slam II tournament.
The corresponding statement was made by the representative of the cybersport club on Twitch.
“I think. that there were no expectations from BLAST at all, like the last one with gpk, because we were traveling with replacements. With all due respect to TORONTOTOKYO, no matter how well he plays, the substitute, it affects.”
It's worth noting that the inaugural BLAST Slam Dota 2 tournament was a historic one for the
BetBoom Team lineup, as it was the first time the team won the grand finals of a major Tier-1 event despite having a substitute on the team.
Alexander “Torontotokyo” Hertek played at BLAST Slam II for
BetBoom Team due to visa problems of Vladislav “Kataomi” Semenov.
Recall that earlier the manager of the team Luca “Lukawa” Nasuashvili commented on the departure of
BetBoom Team from the tournament BLAST Slam 2.
