Anatoly ‘boolk’ Ivanov has revealed that Ivan ‘Pure’ Moskalenko left the
BetBoom Team roster as the team was faced with a choice between him and Egor ‘Nightfall’ Grigorenko. The thing is that after the players switched positions, Nightfall showed himself well on the curry, but Pure did not fit the role of offlayer.
The
BetBoom Team coach shared the relevant information in an interview on KD CAST's YouTube channel.
‘It wasn't a decision that we as a team sat down and decided we needed to switch roles. It's just all down to the individual ambitions of the players, their own selfishness and whatever else.
Egor wanted to play on the curry, because he realised that the third position is not his. He didn't like the way he played on the three. He realised that he doesn't play that well and can't fulfil himself. He said so. And we had a choice - either to look for a new ‘three’ or to invent something. Vanya kindly agreed at that moment to play on the ‘three’.
We talked, and he said he was ready to try. And it started to work out, and Egor felt comfortable returning to the role. In the end it all worked out so that Vanya also realised that he didn't want to develop on the three, but wanted to be a carry.
He realised this after the Riyadh Masters somewhere, and we had a big, big problem on how to solve it. Before Int, we didn't consider the option of a reshuffle, but afterwards we did. The choice was either him or Egor. This is the internal kitchen of the team, Vanya and I have already discussed it many times, in terms of personal communication we are fine’
During the
BetBoom Team's performance at the Riyadh Masters 2024, many analysts said that the team's performance was much worse after the departure of Ivan ‘Pure’ Moskalenko.
The team left the tournament, sharing the 5th - 6th line of the overall ranking table with
PSG Quest. Despite a poor start during the group stage, the team managed to knock
Entity and
WBG.XG out of the lower playoff grid before losing to
Tundra Esports.
Recall that earlier Alexander ‘Nix’ Levin criticised the game of
BetBoom Team carry Egor ‘Nightfall’ Grigorenko for the lack of initiative during the decisive matches.
