Azure Ray made an unexpected admission about their victory over Gaimin Gladiators

Azure Ray did not expect to defeat Gaimin Gladiators in the grand final of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, and they came to the tournament without specific expectations.

Such a statement was made by Zhao "XinQ" Zysin, support for Azure Ray, in a post-match interview published on the RosesaGaming YouTube channel.

"It was amazing. Honestly, we didn't expect to beat Gaimin Gladiators from Europe because they are an incredibly strong team. We came to this tournament not expecting much. So, obviously, making such a turnaround in the grand final was much cooler than just winning"

According to him, the team traveled to the Dota 2 tournament without specific plans, and they were surprised themselves that they were able to defeat such a strong team and tournament favorites. Nevertheless, for the team, it didn't really matter whether they would secure the victory because later XinQ admitted that three players from the roster would join Xtreme Gaming.

This means that Azure Ray will lose all EPT points earned for first place at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 and will give their invite to the next major Dota 2 tournament to Team Spirit.
