Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli said that Valve may add an updated Cache to the CS2 map pool already after the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
The
Aurora captain said this during a stream.
“I think Cache will definitely appear in the map pool after the Major in Cologne. Which map will it replace? I assume Inferno. It always stays as the third map, teams rarely pick it”
The esports player expects changes to the official map pool after June 21, when the Major is supposed to end. The pro player is confident that the developers will bring back the updated map and predicts that it will replace Inferno.
According to him Inferno is not very popular since teams rarely pick it, so replacing it in the map pool would be the most logical option. Despite the fact that the release date of the legendary map has not been announced yet the developers have confirmed that they are working on it.
Valve responded that Cache requires serious polishing, so its appearance in CS2 should not be expected in the near future.
