Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, the offlaner for
Team Falcons, explained that he has a good relationship with Gleb "Kiyotaka" Zyryanov, and that Kiyotaka understands his threats were made in jest, but ATF still apologized for his actions.
The esports player shared this on his X (Twitter) page.
"We get along well and always troll each other in pubs. Maybe I went a bit too far.
I wrote to Kiyotaka: 'Sorry, I crossed the line.' He replied that he didn’t care. Kiyotaka knows I’m joking. Everything I said was just a joke, nothing personal. I understand that such jokes aren’t very good. So I take the blame"
ATF emphasized that his threat to "break his face" was merely friendly trolling, but he acknowledged that he went a little too far. Nevertheless, he pointed out that he talked about it with Kiyotaka, who isn’t offended because he knows it was all in good fun.
However, ATF still issued a public apology not only to Kiyotaka but also to the Dota 2 community, which was extremely outraged by the actions of the Team Falcons player.
Recall that ATF threatened to beat Kiyotaka in real life, which sparked a negative reaction from the entire Dota 2 community.
