Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, the offlaner for
Team Falcons, admitted that he insulted Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev, which led to the scandal at PGL Wallachia Season 2.
The esports player shared this on his X (Twitter) page.
"I want to clarify what happened today. Three months ago, I played a public match against SoNNeikO. During the game, I called him brainless. After the game, he sent me a threatening message on Twitter, which I took as a joke. Today, he approached me in the hotel lobby, put his hand on my shoulder, and started threatening to punch me and knock me to the ground (xd?), to which I replied: Go ahead, hit me"
Afterward, ATF claimed that SoNNeikO resorted to physical threats because he couldn't beat him in Dota 2. Nevertheless, ATF acknowledged that he did insult the pro player in matchmaking. This incident has divided the community, with many believing ATF is the one responsible for the conflict at PGL Wallachia Season 2.
It’s worth noting that earlier, Gorgc explained why SoNNeikO decided to confront ATF in the middle of the tournament.
