Filipe “Astini” Astini stated that he was not ready to coach the previous Team Nemesis Dota 2 roster, which is why he insisted on forming a new team consisting of pro-scene players he trusts.

“Team Nemesis reached out to me to assemble a roster in Southeast Asia—more specifically, to coach the team they already had. During our discussions, I realized I wasn’t comfortable with the situation because I’d have to scout players in an unfamiliar region. I’d never worked there before, and that was the challenge. With qualifiers coming up in a month and a half, it was too risky. I’m not at that stage in my career where I need to take such a risk just to prove something.

I needed a proven player—4nalog. And where there’s one, there are two. Lelis also wanted to pair up with 4nalog. We started analyzing everything and concluded that we could form a team, and everyone agreed to it, based on a multicultural approach. We kept Jabz from Southeast Asia. He has seven TI appearances. Did you know that? I hope to take Jabz to his 8th TI. All these players were my top priority. You might think it’s impossible, as if I could just pick anyone. But some people, like me, know how good these guys are. Maybe they aren’t in the spotlight right now, but I know they’re strong.”

According to a statement by Felipe “Astini” Astini, he wasn’t ready to take risks coaching the previous Team Nemesis roster, as he was worried that a potential failure by the team could damage his reputation. The first player Astini decided to bring onto the team was 4nalog, whose playstyle was a good fit for Lelis. Astini also decided to bring in Jabz. The coach noted that he chose to rely on these players because he trusts their skill level.
