An explanation has been found why Valve decided to remove Train from CS2

Valve might have removed Train from CS2 due to extreme unpopularity of the map among players: only 4.2% of all matches in 2025 were played on it.

This statistic was shared by analytics portal Leetify.

It is noted that players in CS2 spent on Train only about 1.7 million of 41.3 million matches in Premier in 2025. This is extremely low, only Vertigo had worse results, with only 206.2 thousand games played.

This is considered by the community as a possible reason for removing Train from CS2. Also, analysts noted optimization issues, because it supposedly has the lowest average FPS.

Despite the official reason not being named, Valve will still replace Train with Anubis on January 19, together with the end of the 3rd Premier season.
