Ame turned out to be the most expensive player in Dota 2 history: Chalice revealed his salary

Most people think Wang "Ame" Chunyu might be the most expensive Dota 2 player to date, especially after seeing his salary of $57,000 per month during his stint at LGD Gaming.

This information was brought to light by Yang “Chalice” Shenyi, whose remarks were translated by Muesli Chinese's Telegram channel.

“Chalice: The highest salary in Dota history was Ame's. In his last year with LGD, he earned 5,000,000 yuan per year (~$688K)”

If we assume Chalice’s words, the Dota 2 legend was making approximately $57,300 per month, which is most certainly the highest paycheck provided in the history of esports. If we assume this information is correct, Ame could have earned several million dollars just from his salary money alone.

Because Ame alone has hitherto collected over $4.2 million as the prize money throughout his career. When you crunch the numbers with the salary money in hand, his overall earnings could potentially surpass the $5 or even $6 million mark. That would make him not only the most expensive Dota 2 player to date but ultra-wealthy, despite never winning The International.
