PGL Wallachia 2024 match between
G2.iG and
Auroraexperienced a server crash that forced all players out of the game. Game was restored by organisers from a backup.
Organisers tweeted this:
"During the second map of the match between G2.iG and Aurora, there was a server crash. We are trying to recover the lobby and resume to where we had left."
Afterward, PGL restarted this crashed game with a save. At exactly 65th minute, one minute before server crash, players resumed their positions. Although many people expected problems related to lagging issues but nothing occurred.
It is worth noting that restarting a game is an incredibly difficult process that can result in a multitude of problems, and a successful backup of a crashed game might be the first instance of its kind at a tournament of this level in Dota 2.
As such, after nine minutes since restart, it became one-nil for
Aurora ending the map.
