Andrey 'Afoninje' Afonin, formerly of 9 Pandas, had plates removed from his hand, and soon doctors are expected to remove the stitches. The player had been dealing with a broken collarbone for almost a year.

The esports athlete shared this information during a Twitch stream.

"In January, I'm waiting for my hand to heal. The plates have already been removed. I'll start playing comfortably around the 10th when they take off the stitches. Until the end of January, I'll be sitting and playing Dota 2. I'll enter matchmaking, but I doubt I'll be streaming it"

Afoninje broke his collarbone almost a year ago while having fun in an abandoned building. The first two months were particularly tough for him, as the injury was quite severe, but he is expected to fully recover soon.

"I haven't talked to the organizers of BetBoom Dacha yet. I plan to visit it. Hopefully, we'll agree, and I'll just go as an analyst. After that, there will be 'Games of the Future.' Maybe, but not certain, there will be some lineup to play there"

He also shared his plans for the new Dota 2 season and hinted that he might be in talks with one of the teams to play in upcoming Dota 2 tournaments.

Recall that Afoninje played for 9 Pandas at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but the team was eliminated from the tournament early, showing one of the worst results among all the lineups.
