Afoninje named the main favorites of The International 2024

Andrey “Afoninje” Afoninje considers Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, Team Falcons and Tundra Esports to be the most motivated squads among the participants of the upcoming The International 2024 Dota 2 tournament.

The streamer shared his opinion during a private Twitch broadcast.

“I was sitting there wondering who has the motivation to win this Int if it stays that way with a paltry prize pool. I think the only top teams out of the top teams are Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit. Gaimin Gladiators simply because they didn't take TI. Maybe add Team Falcons. Those same Team Liquid's are kinda like the ones that don't care.

As a matter of fact, Team Spirit is motivated. Don't care about the money because there's a chance to win a third Int. Who else? Let's say Tundra Esports: Topson is the third Aegis, RAMZES666 is the first. Who else? There's Pure. He's still young, but you can give.”

The TI13 Dota 2 tournament will take place in Lan format in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, from September 4-15. Six teams out of 16 received direct invitations to the tournament, with the remaining 10 participants selected through regional qualifications. The prize money of this year's championship amounted to 1.6 million U.S. dollars, which is more than half the size of last year's fund.
