Rustam Adekvat Mavlyutov stated that players using third-party software that provides advantages during gameplay should be banned.
The statement by the professional commentator was published by the Metaratings publisher.
"Everyone should be banned for using any third-party programs if they provide an advantage in gameplay."
Overplus is a third-party application for Dota 2 that provides players with various advantages from skin changes to access to extended statistics and paid items. For a long time, players used this software without sanctions from developers. Many pro-gamers also used this program, leading to a wave of bans affecting some professional esports players as well. The opinion within the Dota 2 community has been divided. Some players and analysts supported Valve's actions, but many opinion leaders deemed sanctions against players using the software for harmless purposes, such as changing the appearance of heroes, as excessive.
