Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan stated that Andrey “Dukalis” Kuropatkin is responsible for the mechanical aspects of the draft phase at
PARIVISION, while the team’s coach, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, makes the key decisions.
The player shared this information on Twitch.
“Dukalis. Puppey is whispering something to him from behind. Roughly speaking, Puppey handles 80% of the draft, and Dukalis handles 20%.”
According to Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan, former
PARIVISION coach Felipe ‘Astini’ Astini took the players’ opinions into account more, trying to devise effective draft strategies based on their preferences, while Clement “Puppey” Ivanov takes on more responsibility for hero selection. Moreover, the player noted that the new coach works extensively with the team outside of official matches, analyzing effective gameplay strategies.
“Astini used to ask more about which heroes we wanted to play and tried to come up with something from that: some flex picks, ways to disrupt the game, like with a hidden lane push or constant illusions across the map with Terrorblade. But all that was fixed last year, and we didn’t have any ideas left.
Puppey does more drafting, like: ‘We see Beastmaster—let’s take him down with Pangolier; he won’t stand a chance.’ Puppey sees a hero and immediately looks for a counter. And overall, Puppey gives us a lot outside of the game by explaining how to play zones and so on.”
As a reminder, Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko previously spoke about the problems the
PARIVISION Dota 2 roster has faced.
