Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, the former carry of
Team Spirit, intentionally lost a Dota 2 match because there was a cheater on his team. The esports player did not want that person to gain MMR thanks to him.
The two-time world champion shared this during a Twitch stream.
"It's funny that it's the same guy everyone knows, who **** with low-hacks. Yet, his account isn't banned. Maybe it was banned, but it feels like it's the same account. Guys, I'm not going to play this game; why should I? I wouldn't throw if it were a regular game; I would play until the end, but I literally have a cheater on my team. Why should I sweat so he can gain points? I couldn't care less about points; I could **** even if I lost a thousand points"
He explained that he doesn't want to play with a cheater, allowing that person to gain MMR and continue playing at high ranks. Additionally, he accused Valve of indifference, stating that the Dota 2 developers pay little attention to punishing cheaters in the game.
Yatoro also admitted that he is willing to lose even a few thousand MMR if it means the cheater will lose rating as well and stop showing up at high ranks.
Recall that Yatoro unexpectedly changed his nickname again recently without explaining the reasons for his actions.
