Yatoro MMR

Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, former Team Spirit carry, stated that MMR has no real meaning, but without a high rating, it's impossible to join a good team. According to him, climbing MMR only makes sense for those who aim to enter the Dota 2 pro scene.

The esports player shared this insight during a Twitch stream.

"What’s the point of hitting rank 1 if you’re playing with players thousands of ranks below you? Yeah, there's really no point in it. If you think about it, rank doesn’t matter at all. If you're in the top 100, that’s fine if you’re a pro player. But if you want to get somewhere, then you need to grind points to reach the top"

According to the two-time world champion, ranks are meaningless except for professional players. He noted that without being in the top 100, it’s nearly impossible to get onto a good team.

In his view, aiming for the top spot in the ranking is necessary for building a successful career on the Dota 2 pro scene. He also mentioned that he doesn't worry about his rating and wouldn’t be bothered by losing 2,000 MMR.

Previously, Yatoro shared his list of unbeatable Dota 2 heroes for quickly gaining MMR in matchmaking.
