Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, the carry for
Team Spirit, asked Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov not to beat Van "Ame" Chunyu too hard during the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 tournament. A similar situation also occurred at The International 2021.
Collapse shared this story in a new vlog by the team dedicated to BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, posted on
Team Spirit YouTube channel.
"Yatoro will cry when killing Ame. He will say, 'I don't want to kill my idol.' He said, 'Don't beat him too hard at LAN, please, he's still my idol.'
When we played at TI10, Ilyukha liked all Chinese carries. He was a fan of all of them, and I just came to them on the lane, **** them, and asked, 'Is this your idol?'"
Such a revelation is indeed surprising and may partially explain the 1:1 score in the match against
Xtreme Gaming. Perhaps if
Team Spirit had played at full strength, they would have easily won the encounter rather than settling for a draw.
Recall that earlier Yatoro couldn't contain his emotions when he saw Ame's performance in the carry position, calling his game one of the best he had seen.
