Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, the carry of
Team Spirit, states that seeing the team’s performance spirals during the previous season and as well as during The International 2024, compelled him to take a break from the Dota 2 pro scene.
The multi world champion discussed this during his interview at FISSURE Playground.
“I was taking a break from the competitive side of Dota. We had too many failures and setbacks in tournaments. Even before TI, I was considering taking a break, but our losses at TI completely broke me. That’s when I realized I needed to step away, be it for a short or long time. Initially, I thought about leaving for a year, but then I changed my mind”
Team Spiritdid have a rough previous season which was acknowledged by Yatoro, and prior to the world championship he had been contemplating going on a break. The player has confirmed that after the elimination of TI 13, he made the decision of going inactive, but he emphasized that even skipping a whole year from the pro scene did not seem like such a bad idea.
He admitted he felt that he needed time away from competitive Dota 2 after the defeat he suffered at The International 2024.
Previously, Captain of
Team Spirit had revealed the reason for their defeat against Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov’s team.
