Xtreme Gaming announced their decision to change the team name after reaching an agreement with Weibo Gaming. At Riyadh Masters 2024, the players will compete under the tag WBG.XG, and there has also been a change in the club's leadership.
The official announcement was posted on the club's Weibo page.
"In the midst of the scorching summer, blazing like fire, the Saudi Esports World Championship is about to begin on the hot land of Riyadh. At this moment, we proudly announce that the esports clubs XtremeGaming and Weibo Esports Club have reached a cooperation agreement. These two clubs will form a new united team under the name WBG.XG, to embark together on this journey full of challenges and opportunities"
While the players and coach of
Xtreme Gaming remain unchanged, the roster has been refreshed. The new leader of WBG.XG is Cai "Lilian" Haonan. The specific role of the leader within the club was not specified.
