Matthew “Whitemon” Philmon stated that whenever he made mistakes or died in matches, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko would often use the laugh emoji in the chat wheel.
The player discussed this on YouTube.
“When I first started playing with him, every time I died or did something wrong, he’d use the chat wheel, the laugh emoji. Sometimes it was infuriating, but I thought, ‘Oh well. Let him. I don’t care.’ I just watched replays and learned from my mistakes. But now he’s matured. He doesn’t do that anymore. I think he’s changed. Maybe back then he didn’t respect me because I was a player from Southeast Asia. Who doesn’t care about players from Southeast Asia?”
According to Matthew “Whitemon” Filmon, his teammate’s behavior annoyed him, but the esports player still tried to ignore Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko’s behavior and analyze his own mistakes. The player noted that his teammate’s behavior might have been caused by prejudice, but added that recently Pure has stopped laughing at his failures, which Whitemon sees as a sign of maturity.
As a reminder, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko previously named the toughest opponents on the Dota 2 pro scene.
