Who among the professional players is playing Deadlock?

Last updated:  Pro players switching to Deadlock during alpha stage

The new game which is still in its alpha stages “Deadlock” is developed by Valve but even in its early stages the game seems to get the eyes of professional esports players with quite a few already completely switching to Deadlock from their previous esports titles.

Why Are Pro Players Switching to Valve's New Game?

Deadlock has been able to attract pro players in many ways. The concept is fairly unique considering the tower features and multiple lanes available in the game. There are multiple buildings used such as towers and a mobile feature allowing capturing interest. With all this combined it is understandable how the game was able to attain the interest of multiple professional players.

Some of these gamers are no longer motivated towards their existing games and Deadlock has provided them a new perspective on competitive gaming. Esports players like Hardecki and Vegas for example have transferred to Deadlock as they wanted to escape from their current games as they were feeling burnt out. Valve has a very good reputation in Esports and supports their games which gives a glimpse that Deadlock might one day have a proper esports scene to compete in.

Apart from the well recognized Dota 2 midlaner of B8 team, Danil “Dendi” Ishutin Deadlock is a new game that has attracted his interest. Not long ago, Dendi uploaded an amazing video about himself playing champ called Bibop who has a hook ability. As per the video, Dendi is gameplay where enemies are damaged after pulling them towards himself with Bibo's hook. Then, he stuck a sticky bomb which explodes after some time and is used most recently in the Expoloding Uppercut which renders the opponent to bang on the floor. He delivered his signature bombs to the crowd by saying that they would see him in the southern hemisphere, possibly even alligator under the water in Fiji, “See you later, alligator”.

Dendi decided to take a break from playing deadlock and streamed Dota 2 but not before dubbing e of his streams “The next TI winner of Deadlock”. His great solo performances within the game have already started reaping benefits as former esports player and streamer, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov predicts Dendi to become the strongest mid laner in deadlock.

. In one of his Twitch streams, NS pointed out that Deadlock has two central laneways and Dendi looking at his great solo playing could do both of them by himself. In fact, Dendi was one of the best solo mid players in Dota 2 and because of that this move to Deadlock must be thrilling for all his followers.

ELITE plays a bit of a different role on TSM due to the rush of players that use to dominate the EMEA region mostly Hardecki in the ALGS series, but has now focused fully on Deadlock. That decision shows that Apex really isn't in the cards for the near future. Lasers et al. give us some insight into why this might be the case: there is some really deep potential in this area of competitive gaming.

Vegas

Another professional PUBG player that to turned his guns to deadlock is Vegas, he too made up his mind to swap to deadlock having been a former professional gaming star. In one of his interviews, he mentioned how he has been Waiting for several months prior to institutional playing, putting more than 1000 hours on Deadlock. One of the high profile VALORANT and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players TenZ was also seen using Deadlock. Although TenZ has soundly questioned the depth of the game and has wondered how credible the esports will be, he is still busy trying out the game. Coming from CS, the fact that he is using Deadlock for their English version makes exciting as he has some hopes for the game.

Both players are on a summer break and have been documenting their summer vacation on social networks. ENCE's Viktor "sdy" is with the club since January 3 while Andrij "npl" is on pretty much the same loan to Brothers8. The two are a part of the testing phase, thus, showing that professional shooter players have a good level of interest in Valve's newest venture.

He said that he got tired of the game he was playing and needed change and Deadlock sort of provided a new outlet that made him fully adapt to the game.

Conclusion

Professional gamers and content creators have begun abandoning T20 and establishing themselves on Deadlock even in its alpha version. The game is amazing and has insane gameplay mechanics, and because of it people like Hardecki, Vegas, Noko, TenZ, sdy, npl have taken to Deadlock. The game still has a bad reputation with players like TenZ, and due to that the title is not quite widely adopted, however many people within the community are looking forward to the title along with its first tournaments.
