Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov revealed that a representative from
Gaimin Gladiators approached him with a transfer offer immediately after The International 2024, and then the coach contacted him on Discord. That’s how he joined the team.
The esports player shared this during an interview at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024.
“Someone approached me right after The International, then the coach wrote to me on Discord. That’s it—I agreed. I only had two options: stay with Cloud9 or move to Gaimin Gladiators”
According to him, the offer came right after the Dota 2 World Championship. Watson admitted that he didn’t have many options, and this was the only transfer proposal he received after TI13. Therefore, he chose to leave
Cloud9 and take over the carry position from Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov.
The esports player noted that he was warmly welcomed into the team and soon began team practices and scrims with other teams.
Recall that earlier, Alexander "Nix" Levin clearly demonstrated why
Gaimin Gladiators chose Watson over Dyrachyo.
