Gaimin Gladiators carry, Alimzhan “Watson” Islamzhanov, notes that his multitude of tournament schedules is the main reason why he cannot remain atop the European Dota 2 ladder.
The streamer opened up about this while he was live on Twitch streaming.
“It’s quite difficult to earn much in public games when there are many tournaments and scrims scheduled. Most of the times, you have to warm up and fit a round or two before practicing strats. Then, the remaining time is very little, where you re-watch the games and analyze them. Afterward, you play few matches and that is the day for you. So, when you don’t have those matchups, you can easily sit down all day and just grind matches. I do have practice matches still”
Biased or not, Watson outright said he doesn’t have time for casual games simply because of practices, watching replay videos and preparing for tournaments. He did mention that even if he were not participating in tournaments, he would still be attempting to grind Badge 1 leaderboard and possibly would be there in a while.
This was probably being indirect towards Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, since he went MIA for a considerable amount of time and while he was away, the player was consistently active and remained number one in Europe.
It is notable that the new carry for
Team Secret has had a chance of overtaking Yatoro in the Dota 2 ladder.
