Virtus.pro warned that quickly raising MMR in Dota 2: could lead to problems

Ilya Ulyanov, the carry player for
Virtus.pro, says it is better not to chase fast MMR because high MMR players have problems with matchmaking.
He shared this information on a Twitch stream.
“You don’t want a lot of MMR right now. It’s just trash. If you’re within top 10 ranks matchmaking takes 5-10 minutes. You need something inbetween. Around rank 200 is fine. Games are found very quickly there. The downside is you don’t get to draft”
According to him, if you have high MMR, matchmaking can take more than ten minutes, so it is not worth going up the rank — we heard that from
Gaimin Gladiators too; however, their situation was even worse. Esportsmen waited for over an hour until rivals are found and never started — the match had been cancelled due to big MMR.
