Virtus.pro management has apologized to fans for not making it into The International 2024 and plans to change the roster. They said they would do everything possible to create a competitive line-up.
A statement has been published on their official Telegram channel.
"Today has been one of the worst days in the club's history—the Dota 2 roster lost its chance to secure a spot at The International long before the decisive matches. The club's owners and management apologize to Virtus.pro fans who are deeply affected by this defeat. Unfortunately, the setbacks in Dota 2 have become chronic, which worries us as much as the numerous fans of the club. We promise to make every effort to rectify the situation and create a competitive roster that matches the history and traditions of Virtus.pro."
Furthermore, team noted that there had been serious events in 2022that affected the composition of VP’s roster during this period; probably meaning when players were performing under
Outsiders tag. VP bosses remarked that they did not intend to look for excuses but were set to make needed corrections so as not only rebuild but also bring back honor of
Virtus.pro tag.
"Dear friends, we are not seeking excuses, but the events of 2022 could not remain without consequences. We are diligently and meticulously rebuilding what was destroyed during that period. We assure you that we have enough resources, professionalism, and love for the Virtus.pro tag to handle this task. Your support during this challenging period will give us the strength to achieve our goals"
Notably though,
Virtus.pro was considered as favorites going into qualifiers of The International 2024 only winning one game against
One Move before losing out
L1ga Team and being eliminated from qualifiers.
