Valve made an unexpected decision regarding the first Major of 2027

Insider information was confirmed and the first CS2 Major of 2027 will indeed take place in Argentina Valve unexpectedly gave the organization rights not to PGL but to FiReLEAGUE.

This was officially announced by FiReLEAGUE on their X page.

“HISTORIC EVENT: Buenos Aires will host a CS2 Major for the first time in June 2027. In the land of Messi and Maradona the passion for Counter-Strike is just as strong as for football. We will give it our all to make this Major great HERE WE GO!”

The organizers consider this a historic event for Argentina since the Major will be held in the country for the first time. FiReLEAGUE noted that they will run the event at the highest level to please CS2 fans.

Many were surprised that Valve gave the organization to FiReLEAGUE and not to PGL who were responsible for hosting the biggest CS2 championships. It is worth reminding that FiReLEAGUE CS2 Buenos Aires 2027 will start on May 31 and will last until June 20. The tournament will feature 32 teams who will compete for $1.25 million.
