Valve has issued a patch fixing two distinct bugs in Dota 2 that professional players were exploiting. It has been done with utmost urgency, and with this patch they have tried to achieve a balance within the game while they work on the future updates.
Mark 'sikle' Lerman, one of the analysts for
Team Spirit, released the following on his telegram channel.
"The exploitable bug was that participants could see changes to the inventory of their enemies after the use (or placing) of items. It's the third time similar bugs have been fixed. It is now totally impossible to pull items out of the enemy's stock"
These bugs overshadowed the scandal that took place during the ESL One Raleigh qualifiers where
NAVI Junior was mandatory disqualified for overusing the bug. Members from
Team Spirit and
Tundra Esports were also known to abusing it and many participants called for the ban of the bug and as a result the developers had to take harsh measures.
However, as sikle mentioned, there are two more bugs which still roam about in the game. With the Ninja Gear bug, he and the bug with the Watchers have not been dealt with yet. Warnings have been issued by the tournament organizers stating that the latter is known to have no contraints on its use.
It’s worth noting that
Team Spirit previously announced they would discipline Denis "Larl" Sigitov for abusing bugs during a match.
