Cancellation of The International Dota 2

Due to the constant dissatisfaction of the Dota 2 fanbase, Valve might cancel The International and cease releasing content related to the world championship.

Journalist Richard Lewis made such a statement, publishing a scathing article criticizing the Dota 2 community.

"In the end, as some professional players have suggested, Valve might just be so tired of this **** constantly surrounding the game that they might just stop doing The International and releasing all the content that is usually associated with that tournament series. I hope it happens because these plebs don't deserve anything"

Lewis emphasized that fans do not appreciate the efforts of the developers but only criticize and remain dissatisfied, which has already affected the organization of TI12. As many players wanted, Valve abandoned the Battle Pass, significantly reducing the prize pool of the World Championship.

According to Lewis, the next step could be canceling the main esports event for Dota 2.

Recall that in 2023, instead of the usual Battle Pass, Valve released the Compendium, which disappointed the community and had a negative impact on The International 2023's prize pool.
