Valve is preparing to release another new hero in Dota 2 Bard Frog

Valve is preparing to release another new Dota 2 hero, currently labeled as Bard Frog in the game files, which might have been planned for release alongside one of the Crownfall acts.

Dataminers reported this discovery, showcasing it in the game files. Relevant screenshots were posted on Stepan's Dota Telegram channel.

"The upcoming hero is Bard Frog. In the file responsible for hero background images in the arsenal, a new name, bard_frog, appeared. It uses a secondary image as the background. Are Valve really preparing another hero?"

It’s still unknown what abilities or appearance this new hero will have, but it’s likely to be a frog-like character focused on enemy control or team buffs. Bard Frog might even be a hero suited for support players.

Dataminers’ suspicions are indirectly supported by the fact that Kez, the new hero from Crownfall Act 4, has unused voice lines referencing an unknown hero not yet in the game.

However, Valve has not made any official announcements. It’s possible that the developers will reveal the next Dota 2 hero after the end of Crownfall Act 4, specifically on January 15, 2025.
