Valve responded to the feedback of the Dota 2 community in patch 7.38b by modifying rewards and the Tormentor phase in the first half of the game.
That information was made public through a Dota 2 publication.
Many professional players noticed that Tormentor became overly buffed at the 15 minute mark which allowed the winning team to secure most victories. This was supported by the data that the team who killed Tormentor at the 15 minute mark won 70% of their games.
In order to achieve these goals Valve made several important changes to reduce the mini boss's bounty as well as make the battle against him more difficult.
Changes to Tormentor in patch 7.38b:
Reduced gold per kill from 250 to 175 for allies from killing Tormentor.
Unyielding Shield (Tormentor): Base damage absorption increased from 1900 to 2100.
Unyielding Shield (Tormentor): Base barrier regeneration per second increased from 30 to 40.
These alterations will decrease Tormentor's worth at 15 minutes as well as making the fight at this time more difficult. Because of these changes both pub and pro matches will become less focused on this mini boss.
Previously Valve released patch 7.38b which already instituted a new meta within the Dota 2 matchmaking system.
