One of the Dota 2 developers, Jeff Hill, responded to the claims made by the creators of Overplus about circumventing the updated ban system. A Valve spokesperson stated that the vulnerability has been addressed, rendering the cheat useless once again.
The corresponding statement was posted by the employee in a comment on a relevant thread on Reddit.
"This should be fixed with the gc prop that just happened.
While you can still change your bans at any time on the client, your bans for a matchmade lobby won't update once you're added to the lobby. Your bans will still update immediately for practice lobbies and other non-matchmade lobby types."

Overplus is additional software for Dota 2 that provided players with access to advanced statistics and offered free character skin modifications. Additionally, users gained free access to many paid features of the Dota+ subscription. For a long time, developers ignored the existence of the application, but earlier this year, they began actively combating Overplus users through a wave of mass bans.
Recall that earlier, Overplus developers claimed they managed to bypass Valve's updated ban system in just 20 minutes using match statistics monitoring services.
