Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov stated that Valve might announce an MMR reset during the final part of The International 2024, along with the introduction of a new Dota 2 hero.
The former esports player and current streamer mentioned this during a Twitch stream.
"This is already official according to rumors, everyone knows that the rating will be reset. They’ve already announced it. The International is starting, and on Saturday there will be announcements. They will present a new hero that will be added in 2026, as well as the MMR reset"
Although NS tried to maintain seriousness, it is likely that this was just an ironic joke. Given the general tone of the statement and the sarcasm about delaying the release of a new hero for Dota 2, the streamer was probably just joking. This is further supported by the fact that when asked where the information came from, he repeatedly said "officially according to rumors," even though such rumors have not recently surfaced.
It is also unlikely that Valve would go for an MMR reset, as many players have worked hard for years to reach the top of the rankings, and this metric is crucial for many members of the Dota 2 community.
Previously, NS, along with the
Team Spirit streamer, harshly trolled Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf due to his controversial drawing at The International 2024.
