Valve altered Team Spirit's banners due to the new rules for The International 2024

Valve changed the banners of Team Spirit and other participants of The International 2024 due to new rules prohibiting in-game advertising.

Mark "sikle" Lerman, the team's analyst, showed what the new banners look like.

In a small update for Dota 2, sponsor advertisements were removed from the banners of the teams participating in TI13. It’s worth noting that the banners were even changed in the 2024 Compendium.

The reason behind this is the updated rules for the Dota 2 World Championship, which significantly restrict advertising during the tournament. It's important to note that Valve's decision shocked the teams, as it could greatly impact their funding.

However, a well-known Dota 2 analyst hinted that Valve may have been forced to take this step to comply with Danish legislation, where this year's main esports event for the discipline will be held.
