Dota 2 abandon DPC season
Streamer and analyst Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov stated that Valve may abandon the Dota Pro Circuit system in the next competitive season of Dota 2. Kuznetsov shared this information during a live stream on Twitch. However, there are no official confirmations regarding the cancellation of the DPC at the moment.

There is an insider rumor that has emerged from an unclear source, suggesting that in the upcoming season, there might not be a Dota Pro Circuit, and instead, there could be a system with various commercial tournaments. It's like a rumor that various people periodically mention. I might be standing somewhere, and someone just says, "Hey, there won't be a DPC." It goes into one ear and out the other. Then, from the other side, someone says, "Listen, I heard there won't be DPC."

What is DPC?

The Dota Pro Circuit is a system of regional leagues and tournaments in Dota 2, where teams earn DPC points. At the end of the season, teams with the highest point totals secure slots at The International championship. Other Dota Pro Circuit participants compete for remaining slots in regional qualifiers.

Valve introduced the DPC system after The International 2017. Before that, Dota 2 developers themselves determined which teams would receive invitations to the year's main tournament.
