Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek admitted that
OG failed to qualify for DreamLeague 29 because of lack of practice, since he trained with the new team for literally one day.
The esports player said this during a livestream.
“There we couldn’t arrive early, we almost didn’t play any scrims. We have a new team. I arrived, we literally played scrims for one day, didn’t really prepare much. Then the qualifiers started. Obviously the team is completely different, because I play Dota not the way they play. In my opinion, if we had at least a week of practice, we would’ve easily passed these qualifiers. Actually, the team that qualified didn’t play that bad. And their drafts were fine. That’s why we lost”
He explained that the team is new and they barely played together. According to him, the updated roster had only one day of scrims, so there was basically no proper preparation for the qualifiers.
TORONTOTOKYO believes that with more practice time they would have passed the qualifiers. However, the player still acknowledged the skill of the opponents, noting that Rekonix drafted well and played solid.
