Valve has unexpectedly announced The International 2025, highlighting a unique feature of the championship

The location for The International 2025 will be the beautiful city of Hamburg in Germany, which is known for being the place where the very first Dota 2 World Championship was held. The main event will take place from the 11th of September to 14th of September.

This information was posted on Dota 2’s webpage.

“The stars have aligned, and the cosmic battle unfolds once again on the grand stage. This time, the battle returns to where it all began: Germany, the site of The International's humble debut on the global scene, witnessed by dozens, “Now, fourteen years later, The International returns to Germany, at Hamburg's Barclays Arena from September 11 to 14- hopefully this time with a slightly larger crowd”

Now that it is returning to the spot where the first The International was held, the championship will for sure be a remarkable one. 16 top teams from every corner of the world will compete for in an epic battle for the much awaited title of World Champion and a significant prize pool.

It was also mentioned that some teams will get direct invites for the tournament while others will have to earn their place through regional qualifiers. The main event will take place at the Barclays Arena which can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators.

Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko asked Valve to remove a specific hero from Dota 2 in the upcoming patch, as he stated.
