The best Dota 2 players earn significantly less than esports athletes from LoL: specific amounts revealed

Dota 2 esports players significantly lag behind in terms of salaries compared to professional players in League of Legends. In tier-1 LoL clubs, salaries can reach tens of thousands of dollars, while in Dota 2, salaries may not even reach $15,000.
This is supported by data from a study mentioned in our article on esports player earnings.
According to Victor Goossens, co-founder of Team Liquid, the esports organization paid its members around $8-12 thousand. This is a decent income, considering that it does not include bonuses, winnings, and other benefits. A similar situation, according to insiders, is observed in other tier-1 Dota 2 clubs.
However, in LoL, the figures are drastically different. Salaries in top teams start from $20-25 thousand and can even reach $75 thousand in teams participating in the top divisions of this esports genre. Salaries for League of Legends players are almost 5 times higher than the earnings of top Dota 2 esports athletes.
This is a result of the immense popularity of Riot Games' MOBA. Previously, Yaroslav 'NS' Kuznetsov criticized Valve, suggesting that Dota 2 should operate at the same level as Riot Games does with their League of Legends.
