Comparing Deadlock with another popular game in beta testing - Marvel Rivals, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov said that Deadlock is inferior to this game because of the need to learn complex mechanics, which does not interest ordinary players, and MOBA fans will prefer to continue playing Dota 2.
The manager of
Team Spirit shared the relevant opinion on Twitch.
“For example, Marvel Rivals came out. Big online and so on. Also in beta, it's raw. But what's the deal. You're just a workaholic. You want to relax. I'm pretty sure Marvel Rivals has absolutely simple mechanics. You run, you shoot, you press two buttons and you get high. You play for two hours and turn it off. In Deadlock, you have to learn. You have to spend some time learning. Plus it's like Dota 2. Why would I play Deadlock when there's Dota 2?”
It's worth noting that many Dota 2 players have reviewed Deadlock favorably due to the similarity of the game's mechanics to the popular MOBA strategy game. Valve's new MOBA shooter has gathered an impressive audience of fans even before its official release. Nevertheless, not everyone liked the shooting mechanics of the new game. Also, some Dota 2 fans reproached the developers that they almost stopped developing the game, focusing on the development of Deadlock.
Recall, earlier Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov suggested that the cybersport club
Gaimin Gladiators this year will leave professional Dota 2.
