Team Spirit suddenly filed complaints against ESL: what happened

Speaking to ESL One Birmingham 2024 organizers, the manager of Team Spirit Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov said that the visa submissions dates were too strict. Alongside this, he argued revoking the slot from 1win on account of documents was not fair.

He made this comment on his channel in Telegram.

“The qualifiers and thereby LAN spot for our team were fairly won. Where else have you seen a make-believe deadline set 13 days before one tournament? No way! This is unfounded; ESL should have had a replacement in mind, while depriving 1win’s invite just five days before it is a no go. Getting UK visas is not only difficult but also time consuming so delays are expected”

The Team Spirit manager thinks that ESL had no right to set such rigid requirements for submission of visas because of bureaucracy. Besides, Korb3n added that tournament organizer should have found another contender prior to cancellation of 1win slot.

Notably, there was an issue with invitation at ESL One Birmingham 2024 when it was taken back from 1win due to delay in documentation processes. The next OG will step into their shoes having confirmed their ability to come over to UK.
